Freezer trawlers in Iceland, 2025.

Few days ago here on Aflafrettir.com came a list of the trawlers in Norway

but in Iceland we also have freezer trawlers, but all the freezer trawlers in Iceland are fillet freezer trawlers

in Norway are some fillet freezer trawlers but most of them in Norway freeze the hole fish, and then

then fish is thawed up in land and work there

Now in Iceland are only 11 freezer trawlers, the last one, Vigri RE did stop fishing in April and is now for sale.

but now have four freezer trawlers caught over 8000 tons,

and two of them have caught over 10.000 tons,

but Þerney RE that is number one, , but the total fishing for Þerney RE is 12659 tons

but of that is 3500 tons of silver smelt, and 3600 tons of mackerel.
