New Líðhamar to The Faroe Islands. Boat bought from Iceland.
The first boat
in the Faroe Islands there are several boats that have been bought from Iceland, including some smaller boats such as Cleopatra boats
Now old Særif SH has been sold to The Faroe Islands. Særif SH is 14,9 meters long boat and about 30 tons and fish with autoline
the buyer is P/F EFHO. who builds two boats in the Faroe Islands,,.
Row from Iceland
The liner Jákup B that the company bought in 1993, which was the company's founding year, and this liner has been fishing a lot
in Iceland, three brothers own the company.
the other boat that the company owns is Líðhamar which is an oak boat that was built in 1947, and Líðhamar has been owned by the company since 2001
Særif SH will replace Líðhamar, and the new boat will have the name Líðhamar KG 606. Liðhamar is about 23 meters long while Særif SH is 15 meters long, and because the new boat is shorter
even the old one, they get more days, going from 84 days to 124 days.
The new boat will be named Líðhamar KG 606.
Longer outdoor time
At the same time as the company bought the new boat, the company also bought a line in Iceland and a double portion of tubes from Borgarplasti, and will dispose of all the catch on board.
they actually have to go quite far out, or 60 to 120 miles, and are therefore longer out than is common here in Iceland.
Arnar Laxdal Jóhannsson will go out with the boat and take the first rowers on the boat and give them adviceþ
Arnar was captain of Særif SH when the boat was in Iceland.
As you can see in the picture below, Líðhamar is a pretty nice boat and despite being 76 years old, the boat's construction has been successful.
and it can be noted that from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022, Líðhamar landed a total of 3436 tons of fish, the most in 2018, 500 tons
so far in 2023 the boat has landed 141 tons,
