Pelagic ships. year 2023.nr.1.,Iceland, and The Faroe Islands

Since Aflafrettir first started publishing a list of pelagic ships in 2009, the list has only focused on Icelandic ships

in 2012 Aflafrettir started publishing a list of the pelagic vessels in the Faroe Islands.

Now in 2023, I will do a little experiment with having these two nations, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, together on one pelagic list.

after all, it can be said that ships from these two nations are fishing in similar areas and also similar species.

it is worth noting that there are several ships there that are from the Faroe Islands that were in Iceland,

for example, Ango, It used to be Hoffell SU

and Vestmenningur, it used to be Margrét EA.

All the ships on this list are fishing blue whiting, except three shipw

Hoffell SU was on herring

and the Greenlandic ships Polar Ammassak and Tasiliaq were fishing capelin

At least Finnur Fríði starts with the biggest catch and landed 2300 tons in one trip in company Loðnuvinnslan in Fáskrúðsfjörður in Iceland.
