Pelagic ships.,Iceland, and The Faroe Islands- 2025.List nr.10

List number 10
from 1-1-2025 to 23-11-2025

The one million ton barrier has now been broken, because in total the ships in the Faroe Islands and Iceland have landed over one million tons.

the catch is divided so that the ships from the Faroe Islands have landed 490 thousand tons

and the Icelandic ships have landed about 540 thousand tons

Two ships have caught over 50 thousand tons, and they are Christian í Grótinu from the Faroe Islands and Börkur NK from Iceland.

Icelandic ships were fishing a lot of herring and one boat landed quite often,

and it was Ásgrímur Halldórsson SF who landed a total of 12154 tons in 14 trips

and with that the herring catch by the boat exceeded 20 thousand tons, and Ásgrímur Halldórsson SF is therefore the highest-catching herring boat

now that is all for the year 2025

The Faroese crew  on Christan í Grótinu are clearly not going to let go of the top spot so easily

because the ship landed 10271 tons in 5 trips and most of it was blue whiting

Börkur NK was not far behind with 9966 tons in 7, most of which was herring

Fagraberg 5966 tons in 5

Sigurður VE 8277 tons in 7

Huginn VE 8887 tons in 9
