Trawler Tasermiut from Greenland caught over 10.000 tons, 2025

A number of trawlers, Greenlandic, Faroese and Norwegian, have been fishing off Greenland and have been

catching mostly cod, shrimp and halibut.

Tasermiut

one of the trawlers that fished all year 2025 there on the Greenlandic coast and landed all its catch in Iceland

was the trawler Tasermiut

Tasermiut was built in 2001, and is 66 meters long and 15 meters wide. The trawler was purchased in Iceland in 2023

and was named Þerney RE 3, but the trawler never went fishing under that name, and was then sold to Greenland, from where

the trawler had been purchased and the trawler in Greenland was called Tuukaq. The trawler was named Tasermiut there

Total catch in 2025 over ten thousand tons

The year 2025 was, to say the least, very good for the trawler because the catch on the ship

exceeded 10 thousand tons, or a total of 12429 tons in 17 trips

which makes 731 tons in landings.

Huge fishing. 76 tons per day

The trawler had huge fishing in April because then the trawler came to Reykjavík twice and landed a total of 2087 tons.

and of this catch, cod was 2013 tons

and the first landing at Tasermiut was quite large 1222.6 tons after only 18 days in port. The sailing to the East Greenland coast is about 20 hours  from Reykjavik in Iceland

and the fishing days were therefore only 16 and that makes 76 tons per day, and that is a huge fishing

on the next trip which was only 15 fishing days, the trawler brought 865 tons ashore and that is about 58 tons per day.

The trawler is now fishing off Greenland
